FAQs

If I have a dental emergency, how should I proceed?

If you have a dental emergency, we’ll do our best to see you on the same day. Dr. Priscila Barreto makes sure to answer every call and give all necessary orientations. Weekend emergencies are taken care of during Tuesday morning.

What can I expect on my first visit?

On your first visit, we will provide you with a complete and comprehensive examination. With your consent, we’ll take some x-rays and check your teeth, gums and all other soft tissues. Before you leave, you will be informed about your dental health’s current situation and any necessary recommendations.

I am very nervous about going to the dentist. What are my options?

Going to the dentist doesn’t have to be a struggle anymore. If needed, Dr. Priscila can prescribe some oral anti anxiety medication or even do IV sedation thru a doctor, MD, so you can experience a completely anxiety-free therapy.

What are porcelain veneers and how can they improve my smile?

Porcelain veneers are individually crafted super thin front porcelain covers. Usually, two visits are required. First visit for teeth’s preparation (slight drilling), impression and temporary veneers, and a second for cementing the permanent veneers.

They are very durable and will not stain, being the best choice for fixing:

How can I see the final outcome before I make up my mind about some procedure?

Dr Priscila uses DSD software (Digital Smile Design) to simulate before and after procedures with quite accuracy. This way you can see how the planned procedures will look on you before going for it.

What should I do if I have bad breath?

Bad breath (halitosis) can be an unpleasant and embarrassing condition. Many of us may not realize when having bad breath, but everyone has it from time to time, especially in the morning.

In healthy people, the major reason is microbial deposits on the tongue. Some studies have shown that simply brushing the tongue reduces bad breath by as much as 70 percent.

How often should I have a dental exam and cleaning?

Everybody should have the teeth checked and cleaned twice a year, though the dentist/dental hygienist may recommend more frequent visits. At these visits, your teeth are cleaned and checked for cavities.

Your smile is our team’s first priority, and we’ll give you something to smile about!!!
